If this is your first visit with us, please complete the Client Authorization Form prior to your visit. This will save you time when you arrive.
Going to the vet can be a very stressful experience for some pets. Here at Northland Animal Hospital, our staff has invested many hours of continuing education to learn about ways to reduce the fear, anxiety, and stress that is often associated with veterinary visits. We schedule 30 minute appointments, which allow us to apply mindful handling techniques to reduce anxiety, while also allowing enough time to answer all of your questions.
Here are some other ways to be better prepared for your first visit:
- Take the time to fill out our online Patient Check-In Form that we will email out ahead of your appointment.
- Please have your previous veterinarian send your pet’s records to us at least 48 hours prior to your visit to allow us time to review them. If your pet was recently adopted from a shelter or rescue, please drop off the records or email them to us at least 48 hours prior to your visit.
- If your pet is normally very stressed or reactive at veterinary visits, please let us know ahead of time so we can make sure your visit goes as smoothly as possible.
- Please bring your pet hungry, as we will offer a variety of yummy treats during the appointment.
- If your pet has a favorite treat (or has dietary restrictions), please bring some of these to the appointment.
- Please let our staff know if your pet or anyone in your home has food allergies that we should be aware of.
- Help your cat adjust to their carrier by leaving it out for a week prior to your appointment.
We are excited to see you and your pet and look forward to working with you!
